Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0589789A1] A device for separating flat articles from a pile, including a first (7) and a second (8) suction nozzle which are arranged on one side of a jogging edge (strip) (3), a perforated endless belt (6) passing by continuously in front of the suction nozzles and the free face of the first article in a pile (stack) of articles, a passage forming an exit between the jogging edge and the belt, at least one sensor (17, 18, 19) arranged on the other side of the jogging edge, and a control means (10) for actuating one of the nozzles according to a destacking cycle. The control means is arranged in order to detect that a first article in the pile has been jogged rearwards, by monitoring the operation of one of the suction nozzles during the destacking cycle and triggering a rejogging cycle in response to such a detection, during which the nozzles are actuated alternately. <IMAGE>
