[origin: FR2687066A1] A break-open phial (1) of the ''bottle'' type is disclosed, providing for the easy flow of the product held in the phial. The neck area (4) of the phial is covered with a plastic (preferably heat shrinkable) sleeve (10) at its break line (7), with an extension in the form of a tab or collar extending beyond the break line (7) after breaking of the phial along said line (7). The length d &cir& _ of this extension (10a &cir& _) (measured as a projection onto the neck area centreline) is at least 20 % of the diameter of the opening which results from breaking the phial along line (7). The plane at a tangent to the surface forming the said extension (10b &cir& _) proximate to line (7) makes an angle of less than 60 DEG with the line X-X.
