[origin: EP0590248A1] Building having a metal skeleton. The metal skeleton (1) is mounted on a frame, preferably on an angle-shaped or Z-shaped base rail (2). Supports (4) and load-bearing members (5) of the metal skeleton are profile rails which are in the form of a double-T in cross-section and, with the minimum amount of material, achieve extremely high static values when under pressure and in a bent state. Grooves for fixing various members are formed on the profile-rail outer sides which are directed away from one another. Structural elements, e.g. outer panels (14), fastened on profile rails can expand relative to the base rails (2) and are guided by a guiding element (13, 2d). <IMAGE>
