Process for the preparation of benzoyl compounds of the general formula I <IMAGE> in which R<1> and R<2> denote hydrogen, hydroxyl, C1- to C8-alkyl, C3- to C8-cycloalkyl, C1- to C8-haloalkyl, or phenyl or phenoxy, optionally mono- or disubstituted by C1- to C2-alkyl and/or halogen, and R<3> denotes hydrogen, C1- to C8-alkyl, C3- to C8-cycloalkyl, C1- to C8-haloalkyl, or phenyl or phenoxy, optionally mono- or disubstituted by C1- to C2-alkyl and/or halogen, by reacting aromatics of the general formula II <IMAGE> in which R<1> and R<2> have the abovementioned meanings, with acyl compounds of the general formula III <IMAGE> in which R<3> has the abovementioned meanings and X represents halogen or a group R<4>-C=O and R<4> has the meanings given for R<3>, at temperatures from (-60) to +50 DEG C under pressure-free conditions in the presence of hydrogen fluoride, boron trifluoride and sulphur dioxide.

Verfahren zur Herstellung von Benzoylverbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I <IMAGE> in der R¹, R²: Wasserstoff, Hydroxy, C1- bis C8-Alkyl, C3- bis C8-Cycloalkyl, C1- bis C8-Halogenalkyl, ein gegebenenfalls ein- oder zweifach durch C1- bis C2-Alkyl und/oder Halogen substituiertes Phenyl oder Phenoxy und; R³: Wasserstoff, C1- bis C8-Alkyl, C3- bis C8-Cycloalkyl, C1- bis C8-Halogenalkyl, ein gegebenenfalls ein- oder zweifach durch C1- bis C2-Alkyl und/oder Halogen substituiertes Phenyl oder Phenoxy bedeuten, indem man Aromaten der allgemeinen Formel II <IMAGE> in der R¹ und R² die oben genannten Bedeutungen haben, mit Acylverbindungen der allgemeinen Formel III <IMAGE> in der R³ die oben genannten Bedeutungen hat und X: Halogen oder eine Gruppe R<4>-C=O und; R<4>: die für R³ angegebenen Bedeutungen hat, bei Temperaturen von (-60) bis +50°C drucklos in Gegenwart von Fluorwasserstoff, Bortrifluorid und Schwefeldioxid umsetzt.
