[origin: EP0590579A1] The invention relates to a bathtub with an elongated trough part (1) which is bounded at one end by an inclined back part (2) and at the other end by a foot part (3), the trough part (1) terminating, at the top, in a substantially horizontally aligned, peripheral edge part (4) and the edge part (4) terminating, in the region of the back part (2), in an adjoining area (5) whose horizontal median axis (6) is aligned at an angle alpha to the longitudinal axis (7) of the trough part (1) and whose width corresponds at least approximately to the width of the trough measured transversely to the longitudinal axis (7) of the trough part (1) at the height of the edge part (4).
