[origin: EP0591626A2] The subject of the invention is a releasing device for ski bindings, having a carriage which is movable transversely to the longitudinal axis of the ski, forms a support for the heel of the ski boot and is held in its position of use by the interaction of a carriage guide and a lock operating under spring force until the forces exerted by the ski boot exceed an adjustable threshold. According to the invention, a response by the carriage to these forces, both in a direction of action transverse to the ski surface and parallel to the plane thereof and perpendicularly thereto, is made possible by the fact that the carriage guide (2) engages around the carriage (1) only along its lateral edge region (5) which is to the front in the position of use, and the lock (4) engages on the carriage (1) on its lateral edge region (6) which is to the rear in the position of use and exerts a movement-inhibiting spring force thereon in at least two directions, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the ski and to each other.
