[origin: EP0591634A1] A cleaning device of a cylinder of a printing machine for washing at least one cylinder (2) in the printing unit of a printing machine. A washing beam (6) is supported by a suspension device (20) and can be moved by the latter between a washing position near to the cylinder surface and a starting position further away from the cylinder surface. The washing beam (6) is connected to the suspension device (20) by means of a linear guide device (24) by means of which, in the starting position, the washing beam (6) can be extended from or retracted into the suspension device and the printing unit in the longitudinal direction of the washing beam. Connection means (28) of the washing beam (6) are automatically coupled to or uncoupled from a connection unit (36) during linear displacement of the washing beam (6) in order to feed washing liquid and compressed air to the washing beam (6) in the coupled state. <IMAGE>
