[origin: EP0591774A1] A dishwasher (1) with a washing container (2) and a plurality of spray arms (3, 4, 5) at different washing levels, which are fed by the circulating washing water of an upstream circulation pump (9), comprises, for heating the washing liquid to be circulated, an electric continuous flowheater (10) which is arranged outside the washing container, between the washing container and an adjacent outer housing wall of the dishwasher, in the conduit to the upper spray arms in the washing-water-circulating pipe. The continuous flowheater (10) is constructed as an elongated throughflow tube (17) on a straight support component aligned parallel to a wall (2a) of the washing container, said throughflow tube being electrically heated from outside via one or more separate tubular heating elements (18). The tubular heating elements (18) are arranged on the support component (11) parallel to the longitudinal direction of the throughflow tube (17), the ends of the throughflow tube (17) being equipped with washing-water connections (19) for detachable connection to the washing-water-circulating pipe, and the tubular heating elements (18) being equipped with separately connectable electric line connections (20). Such an arrangement and embodiment of a heating device for dishwashers is space-saving and is constructionally less expensive and simple to produce. In the event of repair, the continuous flowheater can be easily exchanged and, moreover, can be set for various connected loads without any problems. <IMAGE>
