[origin: EP0592384A2] A running sole for a ski, especially a cross-country ski, in which, at least in partial regions of the length and breadth of the ski, a plurality of running-sole incisions are present in the form of ramps 3 which are consecutive and graded in the lengthwise direction of the ski and, in longitudinal section, have a saw-tooth profile to prevent backward slipping. In the region of the stepped ramp 3 which rises with a shallow inclination in the lengthwise direction of the ski, the secondary step is arranged in order to increase the pressure on the surface of the snow, the push-off edge (6) of the secondary step (5) being situated deeper than the push-off edge (4) of the stepped ramp (3). <IMAGE>
