Date Jan. 21, 1994Disclosed is a process for the production of an edged ophthalmic lens wherein an ophthalmic lens which initially is finished on one side and not yet edged according to a prescribed disk shape, i.e. a so-called blank having only one finished effective surface, is produced and the so-called prescription surface is produced in another manufacturing step, if need be, including optimization of the critical thickness. The invented process is distinguished by the combination of the following steps: the prescribed disk shape is stored as a set of data, the position of the second surface (prescription surface) is computed, if need be, including the minimization of the critical thickness from the stored set of data of the prescribed disk shape and the contour of the already finished surface of said blank, subsequently the prescription surface is produced with simultaneous or previous preliminary edging of the blank according to the prescribed disk shape, following production of the prescription surface, the lens is edged, facetted and its perimeter polished in a gripping means utilizing the stored set of data.

Selon un procédé de fabrication d'un verre cerclé de lunettes, on produit premièrement un verre de lunettes fini d'un seul côté et pas encore cerclé selon une forme circulaire prédéterminée, c'est-à-dire une ébauche avec une seule surface efficace finie, puis on produit pendant une étape supplémentaire de fabrication la surface dite d'ordonnance, le cas échéant en optimisant l'épaisseur critique. Ce procédé se caractérise par la combinaison des étapes suivantes: la forme circulaire prédéterminée est enregistrée sous forme de jeu de données; la position de la deuxième surface (surface d'ordonnance) est calculée, le cas échéant en minimisant l'épaisseur critique, sur la base du jeu de données mémorisé concernant la forme circulaire prédéterminée et du contour de la surface déjà finie de l'ébauche; la surface d'ordonnance est ensuite produite, en même temps ou après le cerclage de l'ébauche en fonction de la forme circulaire prédéterminée; après la fabrication de la surface d'ordonnance, le verre retenu dans un logement est cerclé, facetté et poli dans sa zone marginale au moyen du jeu de données mémorisé.
