[origin: EP0592707A1] A separator (1), preferably in a coffer, has parallel links (2 and 3) which each have an arcuate cross-section and engage behind one another with their borders (2a and 3a) such that they form a chamber which widens the flow cross-section for the air guided through and in which the flow rate is reduced and the flow is swirled up, with the result that grease and moisture can be separated off and intercepted by the upwardly open, arcuate link (3). Said link (3) is deformed at its ends such that a wall part (5), connected to it in one piece, projects up, starting from the lowermost point of said link (3), over part of the height thereof and is also connected in one piece to the link (3) along its border (6), with the result that liquid and grease which have been separated off cannot run out of this link. <IMAGE>
