Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0592782A2] The invention relates to a termination for a pressurised cable having at least one line - especially a telecommunications line - which is carried in the pressurised cable, having at least one gas-tight line bushing for lines which are carried, having a pressure conveying tube and distribution housing, and oil or gas as the pressure medium. The termination is distinguished by the fact that the distribution housing (12) is provided with a connecting stub for the attachment of line bushings (28, 31), that a chamber (which is called a pressure protection chamber (400)) is provided outside the first-mentioned line bushings (28, 31), at least one second line bushing (33, 33') being provided in the wall of said chamber for lines which are carried in the cable, and that the connecting stub (20), the wall of the pressure protection chamber (400) and the second line bushings (33, 33') are pressure-resistant and are sealed against the passage of the pressure medium. The termination is used to pass out at least one electrical or optical line (32, 32') which is located in pressurised cables. The termination - especially for multicore power cables - can be used just as well for cables which are pressurised by oil or external gas pressure. <IMAGE>
