The object of the invention is to develop a clamping device for fixing a flexible printing forme onto the surface of a cylinder, which device can be produced at little expenditure, permits rapid clamping with little effort and poses only little loading on the printing forme so that it can be used several times. 2.2. The invention consists in that a resilient element (11) having two limbs (14, 15) is attached to a tensioning shaft (7) arranged in the gap (2) of a cylinder (1), the first limb (14), which is the trailing limb seen in the direction of rotation of the cylinder (1), protruding freely into the gap (2) in the untensioned state, and the other limb (15) projecting beyond the first limb (14) in the radial direction. Furthermore, the solution consists in the fact that the trailing end (4) of the printing forme (5), which is bent at an obtuse angle, bears against an axially extending edge (23) which is a constituent of the trailing side face (24) of the gap (2). 2.3.
