[origin: EP0592939A1] A method and a device are described for producing a multifunctional packaging from cardboard, card and the like, which packaging, in the erected state, has a box-shaped bottom part (1), in which the product to be packaged remains at the sales point, and a box-shaped top part (2) which serves as protection during transportation and is removed on reaching the sales point. In the method, the blanks for the bottom part (1) and top part (2) are produced and placed one above the other in such a way that they partially overlap each other. The blanks are then fixed by means of at least one adhesion point arranged on one side in the overlapping region and are closed together. They are then erected, filled and closed as a unit, the packaging then being subjected to pressure after filling and closing to release the adhesive connection. The device has, in particular, a positioning and aligning device in order to place the two blanks one above the other in an aligned manner. <IMAGE>
