[origin: EP0593862A1] A connecting housing for an electrical apparatus forms the power cable connection of the latter. It contains connection contacts protruding beyond its connection side in the direction of insertion and, next to the connection contacts at a distance from them, a housing projection which extends beyond the said connection contacts in the direction of insertion and serves to guard them against mechanical damage. The housing projection bears an operating element, for example a capacitor, which is connected to the connecting housing and is required for operation of the electrical apparatus. <IMAGE>
