Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0594085A1] The invention relates to a method for detoxifying, airing and sterilising fabrics, textile garments, leather clothing and shoes which are introduced into a drying cupboard having an inner space, an especially heated air stream penetrating, through at least one air-inlet orifice (12) formed in the drying cupboard (10), into a first interspace (13) between an outer and an inner shell of the drying cupboard and, after flowing through the first outer space, penetrating into the inner space (11) and thereafter flowing out through at least one air-outlet orifice (14) formed in the drying cupboard, the air stream being moved by a blower (15) and being heated by a heating device (16). The new method is characterised in that the air stream penetrating through the air-inlet orifice (12), after flowing through the first interspace (13), is heated by a heating device (16), in that the heated air stream is guided into the inner space from two sides located opposite one another, and in that the air stream flowing out of the inner space is sucked up by a blower (15) and forced outwards through an air-outlet orifice (14). The invention relates, furthermore, to a device for carrying out the method. <IMAGE>
