Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0594547A1] Method of emptying a refuse-collecting container by air evacuation, the container (1) being connected via a first valve (4) to a refuse feed line (3), for example in the form of a refuse shaft arranged in a multi-family dwelling. The refuse-collecting container can be connected via a second, valve-controlled aperture in the base of the container to a refuse removal line (5), which for its part can be connected to a collecting chamber located in a refuse vehicle, it being possible for the latter chamber to be made empty of air in order to achieve a necessary suction effect. The interior of the container can be connected to atmospheric air by at least one valve-controlled aperture (8, 9). On emptying the container, the first valve is kept open during a first evacuation stage. In a second evacuation stage, after at least a partial vacuum has been achieved in the container, atmospheric air is introduced below the refuse bags which have collected in the collecting zone in the container, and in a third evacuation stage a further stream of atmospheric air is introduced into the interior of the container above the refuse collecting zone. <IMAGE>
