Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9323862A1] A device (10) for switching on and off electric consumers is particularly suitable for display instruments of motor vehicles. The device has a housing (12) into which enters a switching element (92) that projects laterally from the base (74) of a switch-button (14). A leaf spring (36/1, 36/2) is shaped at each free terminal section (34/1, 34/2) of the housing base plate (24). Both leaf springs extend along a common longitudinal side (38) of the base plate (24) and their free ends (40/1, 40/2) face each other. The switching element (92) is located between these free ends of the leaf springs (36/1, 36/2) in the initial position of the device (10). By axially pulling then turning the switch-button (14), the switching element (92) presses on one of the switching ramps (48/1, 48/2) shaped on the leaf springs (36/1, 36/2) causing contact elements (18/1, 18/2) arranged under the lower side of the leaf springs (36/1, 36/2) to directly and electrically connect the selected strip conductors (56/1, 56/1; 58/1, 58/1) on the printed circuit board (20).
