[origin: WO9320904A1] Golf club head (3, 20) consisting of thin walls defining a front part comprising a striking surface (5, 22), a sole (6, 23) and a rear part (7; 24-26) above the sole (6, 23), defining a cavity at the rear of said front part and comprising a damping element. The golf club head is characterized in that at least one of the thin walls has a protruding damping element (10, 35) consisting of a stress plate (11, 36) having a high modulus of elasticity and attached to the rear part (7; 23-26) by a visco-elastic material (12, 37). Application in irons and woods.

Tête (3, 20) de club de golf, formée de parois minces définissant une partie avant comportant une face de frappe (5, 22), une semelle (6, 23) et une partie arrière (7; 24-26) disposée en dessus de la semelle (6, 23), définissant une cavité au dos de la partie avant, et comportant un élément amortisseur, caractérisée en ce que au moins une des parois minces présente en excroissance l'élément amortisseur (10, 35), qui est constitué par une plaque de contraintes (11, 36) à haut module d'élasticité, reliée à la partie arrière (7; 23-26) par un matériau visco-élastique (12, 37). Application: fer ou bois.
