[origin: EP0594966A1] In a water basin for bathing and/or swimming, in particular a bath tub body (1) connected to a whirlpool system (2), the upper rim region (5) of its basin wall (4) is provided with at least one groove element (6) extending over the whole circumference or over part of it. The groove element (6) is designed as an inflow groove (7) which is connected via at least one filling member (8, 8', 24) with a liquid supply line (9, 9', 12; 12', 26) and has at least over certain parts an inflow edge (14) forming the upper rim region (5) with which a liquid portion exceeding the filling height of the inflow groove (7) can be drained as a continuous or intermittent cleaning rinse via the inner side of the basin wall (4). <IMAGE>
