The cable connector is designed for the connection of a multiplicity of cable cores (6) with a modular connector (5), which comprises a plurality of board-shaped contact carriers (51a-51e) which are equipped in advance with IDC contacts, are successively fitted on to the cable cores (6) and are stacked one on top of the other to form a contact block (59), which can be inserted in a contact block container (63), comprising two insulating parts, and is housed in a locked manner in a connector housing (2) formed in particular such that it is conducting, for example from two half-shells (2a, 2b). The invention is suitable for the connection of multicore cables to cable connectors, in particular to shielded cable connectors. <IMAGE>

Der Kabelstecker ist zum Anschluß einer Vielzahl von Kabeladern (6) mit einem Modulstecker (5) ausgebildet, der aus mehreren plattenförmigen, mit IDC-Kontakten vorbestückten Kontaktträgern (51a-51e) besteht, die nacheinander an die Kabeladern (6) angeschlagen und aufeinander zu einem Kontaktblock (59) gestapelt sind, der in einen aus zwei Isolierteilen bestehenden Kontaktblockbehälter (63) eingesetzt werden kann und verriegelt in einem insbesondere leitend, z.B. aus zwei Halbschalen (2a,2b) gebildeten Steckergehäuse (2) aufgenommen ist. Die Erfindung ist für den Anschluß vieladriger Kabel an Kabelstecker, insbesondere an geschirmte Kabelstecker, geeignet. <IMAGE>
