Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0595258A1] The apparatus is used for freeing a tab (21) from a sheet (14) which contains blanks or the like and is conveyed after processing to a working station arranged downstream. The apparatus includes a supporting plate (12) for the sheet (14), which plate (12) has a through aperture (23) in the region containing a tab (21) in the sheet (14) resting on the said plate (12). A tool-holding plate (10) can be moved vertically towards the supporting plate (12) and away from the latter. On the tool-holding plate (10) there is mounted at least one pin-like tab-freeing element (34) which projects towards the supporting plate (12). In order to ensure that the tabs are reliably freed and that a sheet is conveyed onwards properly to a working station arranged downstream, the pin-like tab-freeing element takes the form of a headless pin (34), the outside thread of which engages with the inside thread of a threaded device (30, 32) which passes through the tool-holding plate (10). A run-up block (38) bounds in the conveying direction (A) of the sheet (12) on the through aperture (23). On the top of the run-up block (38) there is provided a smooth inclined run-up surface (40) which inclines upwards in the conveying direction (A) from the through aperture (23) to the supporting surface (13) of the supporting plate (12). <IMAGE>
