[origin: EP0595289A1] Central retaining device for drawer cupboards, in which the turn of a key in a cylinder lock is transmitted via deflecting devices (6,7,8) to a bolt (4) and from this to a locking strip (3) which cooperates with correspondingly designed hooks on the drawers and which can assume a locking position and an unlocking position, in which it engages round or releases the drawer hooks. So that a drawer which has inadvertently remained open after the retention of the cupboard can subsequently be locked by pushing it to, without a renewed actuation of the cylinder lock, there is provided an axially moveable slide (1) which, in the event of the action of a corresponding force from a drawer hook on the locking strip (3), springs in counter to a spring element (2) and thereby allows the locking strip to be snapped open and shut, so that the drawer which has remained open can subsequently be locked. <IMAGE>
