[origin: WO9324726A1] The actuating device has a pull-cord (8) on which two catches (9) are securely fitted at a given distance. The pull-cord (8) is connected via a gear system (10) to a shaft (23) which passes through sliders (24) and is coupled to curtain strips (34) by gears arranged in the sliders. The curtain strips (34) can be pivoted through some 180 DEG between stops by the shaft (23). If the curtain strips (34) are against a stop, they can be moved in one of the longitudinal directions of the curtain rail, whereby one of the stops (9) butts against a forepart (24a). The curtain strips (34) can thus be pivoted about their longitudinal axis or displaced horizontally along the curtain rail by operating the pull-cord (8).
