Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9323601A1] In textile washing machines having a door mounted on the washing unit so as to vibrate together with said unit, arranged somewhat recessed behind the opening of the fixed front wall of the housing and designed with elements of a door lock, it is known to arrange the handle of the door lock so that it substantially projects above the cover plate of the lye container. The components project above the covibrating front or are recessed in the opening area of the fixed housing front. During operation of the machine, the covibrating part moves with respect to the fixed part of the housing. These movements are particularly extreme during spinning. A substantial disadvantage is the danger to which the operator is exposed of being bruised between the fixed and movable parts, in particular at the door handle. This danger of bruising is eliminated in the disclosed textile washing machine by arranging the door lock or handle (5) approximately flush with the plane of the cover plate (3), so that it hardly projects, if at all, beyond the front surface of the covibrating part.
