Tool for tying an article by means of a band which consists of a band tongue and of a buckle connected fixedly to one end of the band tongue and having a band orifice for receiving the other end of the band tongue. The tool comprises a tying device and a receiving device as well as, for guiding the band out of the band-receiving device to the tying device, a guide channel (5), with which cooperates an elongate flexible slide which is guided via a driving roller provided at the end of the guide channel remote from the tying device. According to the invention, the elongate flexible slide or a part thereof is formed by a flat slide band (10), especially made of metal, which, at least in parts of its length, is wider than the guide channel (5), guide grooves (13) being provided in the sidewalls of the guide channel for the purpose of receiving the edges of the slide band. <IMAGE>

Werkzeug zum Binden eines Gegenstands mittels eines Bandes, das aus einer Bandzunge und einem mit einem Ende der Bandzunge fest verbundenen, eine Bandöffnung zur Aufnahme des anderen Endes der Bandzunge aufweisenden Schloß besteht. Das Werkzeug umfaßt eine Bindeeinrichtung und eine Aufnahmeeinrichtung sowie zum Führen des Bandes aus der Bandaufnahmeeinrichtung zur Bindeeinrichtung einen Führungskanal (5), mit dem ein langgestreckter, flexibler Schieber zusammenwirkt, der über eine an dem der Bindeeinrichtung fernen Ende des Führungskanals vorgesehene Antriebsrolle geführt ist. Erfindungsgemäß ist der langgestreckte, flexibler Schieber oder einen Teil desselben von einem flachen Schieberband (10), insbesondere aus Metall, gebildet, das zumindest in Teilen seiner Länge breiter als der Führungskanal (5) ist, wobei zur Aufnahme der Ränder des Schieberbands in den Seitenwänden des Führungskanals Führungsnuten (13) vorgesehen sind. <IMAGE>
