[origin: EP0596579A1] A public transport system comprising means of transport accessible to the public at a charge, said means in operation travelling predetermined routes operated by one or more operators, with predetermined stops; and sales locations for transport tickets. At least a plurality of passengers are provided with a registration means comprising readable and writable memory means. Further, devices are provided by means of which a passenger can store the distance travelled by him in the memory means of the registration means, and means for determining the selling price of a next transport ticket on the basis of the travelled distances stored.
