A process for producing a phosphate coating, wherein a sludge, which is an impurity component other than inevitable impurities contained in a phosphating bath, is removed and the object is electrolyzed in order to enhance the capability of chemical conversion coating and provide a high-quality conversion coating. This process serves to form a satisfactory phosphate coating on whatever metallic material and can provide a phosphate coating having a large thickness which has not been available in the prior art. <IMAGE>

Un procédé permet de produire un revêtement de phosphate. Pour ce faire, on retire une boue, composée d'impuretés autres que celles inévitablement présentes dans un bain de phosphatation, et on électrolyse l'objet pour en renforcer la capacité de revêtement par conversion chimique et obtenir un revêtement par conversion de haute qualité. Ce procédé procure un revêtement de phosphate, satisfaisant pour toute surface métallique et éventuellement doté d'une grande épaisseur, ce qui était impossible en l'état antérieur de la technique.
