A stab-proof and bullet-proof vest (1) has inserts, in pockets (2, 3), which protect the chest and back. n insert consists of a multi-layer fabric (8, 9) from the inside to the outside, which fabric primarily protects against ballistic projectiles, and of one or more armour plates (4, 5, 6, 7) which primarily serve to protect against thrust weapons. In this case, the fabric (8, 9) and the armour plate(s) (4, 5, 6, 7) complement one another in their effect, such that a full protection is achieved for any type of threat without the vest (1) being cumbersome or too heavy for prolonged use. The armour plates (4, 5, 6, 7) consist of a plurality of layers of high-strength textile fibre material, preferably high-strength polyethylene, which are embedded in a network of low-pressure polyethylene. The armour plates are produced by the film stacking method from fabric sections coated with powder. <IMAGE>

Eine Stich- und Kugelschutzweste (1) hat in Taschen (2, 3) Brust und Rücken schützende Einlagen. Eine Einlage besteht von innen nach aussen aus einem mehrlagigen Gewebe (8, 9), das in erster Linie Geschosse abwehrt, und einer oder mehreren Platten (4, 5, 6 ,7), die in erster Linie dem Schutz gegen Stichwaffen dienen. Das Gewebe (8, 9) und die Platte(n) (4, 5, 6, 7) ergänzen sich dabei in ihrer Wirkung, so dass für jede der Bedrohungsarten ein vollwertiger Schutz erzielt wird, ohne dass die Weste (1) unhandlich oder zu schwer für längeren Gebrauch wird. Die Platten (4, 5, 6, 7) bestehen aus mehren Lagen hochfesten Textilfasermaterials, bevorzugt hochfestes Polyethylen, die in einer Matrix aus Niederdruck-Polyethylen eingebettet sind. Die Herstellung der Platten erfolgt im Film-Stacking-Verfahren aus mit Pulver beschichteten Gewebeabschnitten. <IMAGE>
