Known wall elements with a motor drive have a drivable pinion, with a vertical axis, which meshes with chains or racks fitted on the ceiling rails. Wall elements of this type have the disadvantage that a drive element is always to be provided along the entire running-rail system, and that the elements can always only be moved linearly along the rack or chain provided. The wall element (11) according to the invention has at least one carriage (14) with at least one pair (21) of driven running wheels. All the drive elements are consequently assigned directly to the carriages (14). The partition wall (10) according to the invention is used in order to subdivide large rooms into a plurality of small rooms. Handling of said partition walls (10) is simplified considerably by the wall elements (11) driven by means of the carriages (14). <IMAGE>

Bekannte Wandelemente mit motorischem Antrieb verfügen über ein antreibbares Ritzel mit vertikaler Achse, welches mit an den Deckenschienen angebrachten Ketten oder Zahnstangen kämmt. Derartige Wandelemente haben den Nachteil, daß immer ein Antriebselement längs der gesamten Laufschienen-Anlage vorzusehen ist und daß die Elemente immer nur linear längs der vorgesehenen Zahnstange bzw. Kette bewegt werden können. Das erfindungsgemäße Wandelement (11) weist mindestens einen Laufwagen (14) mit wenigstens einem angetriebenen Laufradpaar (21) auf. Alle Antriebselemente sind demnach direkt den Laufwagen (14) zugeordnet. Die erfindungsgemäße Trennwand (10) wird zur Unterteilung von großen Sälen in mehrere kleine Säle eingesetzt. Die Handhabung dieser Trennwände (10) wird durch die mittels der Laufwagen (14) angetriebenen Wandelemente (11) erheblich vereinfacht. <IMAGE>
