[origin: EP0597470A1] The labelling system includes a loading device (2), a transport device (3), a device for printing (7) and positioning (4) labels and an unloading device (5). A control unit (6) is connected to a reader (L1) placed upstream of the device (4) for positioning labels. The control unit (6) includes means for searching in a data base (BD) for the data which are to be transmitted to the printing device as a function of the identification codes read by the reader (L1).
