[origin: EP0597522A1] A process is provided for the selective flotation of a sulphide ore containing copper, lead and zinc, the crude ore being ground and flurried with water, the suspension formed being aerated to establish a defined redox potential, being successively conditioned with SO2, Ca(OH)2 and with collectors and frothers and then the Cu flotation being carried out, in the aeration of the suspension before the Cu flotation, a redox potential of 70 to 90% of the redox potential desired for the Cu flotation being established and the desired redox potential of 60 to 340 mV being established by the aeration during the Cu flotation and the Cu flotation proceeding at a pH of 8.5 to 10.5 and Cu being removed from the flotation with the froth.
