Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0598353A1] The invention relates to a running gear for low-platform trains with a running gear frame on which individual wheels (9) are rotatably mounted by means of one rocker (7) each and the rocker (7) is attached in an articulated fashion supporting itself by means of primary springs, the attachment of the running gear frame to the wagon body of the low-platform train being effected by two coupling rods (17) which are mounted at a distance from one another on a crossmember (1) of the running gear frame in an articulated fashion and, on the other hand, are also attached to the wagon body in an articulated fashion, the wagon body being supported on the running gear frame by means of secondary springs (15) which are mounted in pockets (16) near to the transverse ends of the crossmember (1). Transverse stops (18) which are arranged at a distance from one another in the crossmember (1) bound the transverse movement of the wagon body with respect to the running gear. The object of the invention consists in constructing the running gear in such a way that the area of the wagon body which can be walked on is continuously at a low-platform level and the wheels of the running gear can be arranged in a steerable fashion. This object is achieved in that the rocker (7) is mounted on a horizontal axle (6) arranged in the transverse direction of the running gear on a swivelling bolster (4), the said swivelling bolster (4) being attached to the running gear frame so as to be articulated about a vertical axis. <IMAGE>
