An apparatus for washing photographic materials (5) has at least one washing tank and at least two rows (3, 3a) of pairs (4) of rollers arranged one above the other above the liquid level (2) of the tank (1), the photographic material running through the first row (3) in the descending direction and through the second row (3a) in the ascending direction, (a) the rollers of each pair of rollers being arranged axially parallel to each other and touching the front or back side of the photographic material guided through between them, (b) the pressure which the rollers of at least one pair of rollers exert on the photographic material being set to 50 to 1000 p/cm<2>, and (c) at least one pair of rollers of the descending row and at least one pair of rollers of the ascending row being provided with a water supply, and permits a particularly rapid washing with conventional amounts of water. <IMAGE>

Eine Vorrichtung zur Wässerung fotografischer Materialien (5) aus wenigstens einem mit Wässerungtank und wenigstens zwei Reihen (3,3a) von übereinander angeordneten Rollenpaaren (4) über dem Flüssigkeitsniveau (2) des Tanks (1), von denen die erste Reihe (3) vom fotografischen Material absteigend und die zweite Reihe (3a) vom fotografischen Material aufsteigend durchlaufen werden, wobei (a) die Rollen eines jeden Rollenpaares achsparallel zueinander angeordnet sind und Vorder- bzw. Rückseite des zwischen ihnen hindurchgeführten fotografischen Materials berühren, (b) der Druck, den die Rollen wenigstens eines Rollenpaares auf das fotografische Material ausüben, auf 50 bis 1000 p/cm² eingestellt ist und (c) mindestens ein Rollenpaar der absteigenden Reihe und mindestens ein Rollenpaar der aufsteigenden Reihe mit einer Wasserzufuhr versehen sind, gestattet mit üblichen Wassermengen eine besonders schnelle Wässerung. <IMAGE>
