The internal combustion engine cylinder head, which is composed of light alloy in the region to be cooled, accommodates the valve gear (4 - 6). In order to achieve a reduction in noise, the noise-exciting parts (4 - 6) forming the valve gear are at least accommodated in their own housing (7), this being composed of a material which damps the structure-borne noise better than the light alloy of the remainder of the cylinder head (1) and being fastened to the remainder of the cylinder head (1) with the interposition of a layer (8), the expansion properties of which in the event of temperature fluctuations cancel out with the expansion properties of the valve gear (4 - 6) and which reduces the transmission of structure-borne noise. Der im zu kühlenden Bereich aus Leichtmetall bestehende Zylinderkopf für eine Brennkraftmaschine nimmt den Ventiltrieb (4 - 6) auf. Um eine Geräuschminderung zu erzielen, sind die den Ventiltrieb bildenden, geräuschanregenden Teile (4 - 6) zumindest in einem eigenen Gehäuse (7) untergebracht, das aus einem den Körperschall besser als das Leichtmetall des übrigen Zylinderkopfes (1) dämpfenden Werkstoff besteht und am übrigen Zylinderkopf (1) unter Zwischenlage einer Schicht (8) befestigt ist, deren Dehnungseigenschaften bei Temperaturschwankungen sich mit den Dehnungseigenschaften des Ventiltriebes (4 - 6) kompensieren und die Körperschallweiterleitung verringert, außerdem besitzt dieses Gehäuse (7) einen es berührungslos umgebenden Deckel (10). <IMAGE>
