[origin: EP0599805A1] A key (1, 13) for a cylinder lock exhibits, on its bit, notches (2, 3, 14), in particular in the form of a V, which position the core pins (6, 19). In at least one notch (2, 3, 14), there is provided, in the longitudinal direction of the key (1, 13), a web (4', 5', 18') which spans the notch (2, 3, 14) at a depth which is smaller than the notch depth and whose width is smaller than the key width. The web (4', 5', 18') bears a supporting surface (4, 5, 18) or supporting edge for the core pin (6, 19), which is configured to be offset in cross-section and, by means of the offset surface (7, 20), beyond which a, for example, conical continuation (10, 21) projects axially, rests on the supporting surface (4, 5, 18) or edge of the web (4', 5', 18').
