Die Mitnehmer (2) der horizontal gelagerten Wäschetrommel (1) haben ein asymmetrisches Querschnittsprofil, das einer asymetrischen Parabel wenigstens ähnelt. Das Verfahren zum Betrieb einer solchen Waschmaschine ist durch Drehung der Wäschetrommel (1) in unterschiedliche Drehrichtungen gekennzeichnet, die abhängig vom Programmabschnitt (Benetzungsphase, Waschphase, Schleuderphase) und von der Textilart mehr oder weniger stark unterschiedlichen Betriebsanteilen zugeordnet sind. <IMAGE>
