Cylinder block and crank case (1) for an internal combustion engine with inlet and outlet passages for ventilation arranged therein, preferably a multi-cylinder in-line internal combustion engine in which equalising chambers (42) are incorporated in the inlet line (44) and a resonance chamber (29) is incorporated in the outlet line (36). Arranged ahead of the resonance chamber (29) are passages (30), each of which starts from variable-pressure chambers (24, 25 and 26, 27 respectively) in the cylinder block and crank case. The passages (30) are provided along their length with a plurality of bends (32, 33) and thus act as oil separators. The equalising chambers (42) and the resonance chamber (29) are arranged to the side of the row (5) of cylinders. They reinforce the cylinder block and crank case (1) and reduce the amount of noise emitted. <IMAGE>

Zylinderkurbelgehäuse (1) für eine Brennkraftmaschine mit darin angeordneten Be- und Entlüftungskanälen, vorzugsweise eine Mehrzylinder-Reihenbrennkraftmaschine, bei welcher in die Belüftungsleitung (44) Ausgleichskammern (42) und in die Entlüftungsleitung (36) ein Resonanzraum (29) einbezogen sind. Vor dem Resonanzraum (29) sind jeweils von druckvariablen Gehäusekammern (24, 25 bzw. 26, 27) ausgehende Kanäle (30) angeordnet. Die Kanäle (30) sind in ihrem Verlauf mit mehreren Abknickungen (32, 33) versehen und wirken so als Ölabscheider. Die Ausgleichskammern (42) sowie der Resonanzraum (29) sind seitlich neben der Zylinderreihe (5) angeordnet. Sie versteifen das Zylinderkurbelgehäuse (1) und reduzieren die Geräuschabstrahlung. <IMAGE>
