[origin: US5415105A] The invention relates to a tandem warhead with a preliminary charge (1) and a main charge (2) respectively each with an associated fuse (3, 4). So that on ignition two fuses (3, 4) which are completely identical can be used, piezoelectrical percussion fuses (3, 4) are used which can be triggered by shockwaves. To establish the delay period of the fuses (3, 4) the housing construction, the arrangement of the fuses (3, 4) and the material composition of the housing (5) are to be selected in such a way that the propagation time of the shockwave imparts the required delay period.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Tandemgefechtskopf mit einer Vorladung (1) und einer Hauptladung (2) mit jeweils einem zugeordneten Zünder (3,4). Damit bei der Zündung zwei vollkommen gleiche Zünder (3, 4) verwendet werden können, werden piezoelektrische Aufschlagzünder (3,4) verwendet, die durch Schockwellen auslösbar sind. Zur Festlegung der Verzögerungszeit der Zünder (3,4) ist die Gehäusekonstruktion, die Anordnung der Zünder (3,4) und die Materialzusammensetzung des Gehäuses (5) so zu wählen, daß die Laufzeit der Schockwelle die geforderte Verzögerungszeit bewirkt.
