[origin: EP0600801A1] A binder for paper-coating composition, characterised in that it comprises: A) from 97 to 99.9 %, preferably from 97.5 to 99.5 % (calculated on the basis of the weight of the solids content) of a film-forming aqueous dispersion of a latex of an organic copolymer chosen from a styrene-butadiene, styrene/acrylate and styrene/butadiene/acrylate copolymer, B) from 3 to 0.1 %, preferably from 2.5 to 0.5 % (calculated on the basis of the weight of the solids content) of an aqueous emulsion of an aromatic epoxy resin and of a nonionic surface-active agent. The paper coated with the coating composition according to the invention exhibits, in particular, a better wet pick resistance.
