[origin: EP0601290A2] The invention relates to a regular jack (RJ) connector for information and data technology, having contacts of the insulation-displacement technology type. The object, namely to develop a regular jack connector which is substantially improved with respect to its electrical parameters and which corresponds to category 5 of the technical requirements for cable and connector technology (EIA), is achieved through the fanning-out of the individual contacts in the regular jack connector and their extension to the insulation-displacement (LSA) contacts, which are arranged set back, on two levels.
