Abstract (en)
The invention relates to a sealing element for guiding test air to or from rod-shaped articles of the tobacco-processing industry, which has a contact surface for end sides of the articles, provided with a passage for the test air, and is flowed through by test air essentially parallel to the axes of the articles. The fundamental problem consists in improved air guidance inside the sealing element. According to the invention, the problem is solved by the sealing element (1) having a flow path for the test air, on which the test air flows with a radial component (14a, 14b). With the test air being guided according to the invention, the risk of obstructions as a result of crumbs of tobacco which have been left behind is reduced. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Dichtelement zum Leiten von Prüfluft zu oder von stabförmigen Artikeln der tabakverarbeitenden Industrie, das eine mit einem Durchlaß für die Prüfluft versehene Anlagefläche für Stirnseiten der Artikel aufweist und im wesentlichen parallel zu den Achsen der Artikel von Prüfluft durchströmt ist. Das zugrundeliegende Problem besteht in einer verbesserten Luftführung innerhalb des Dichtelementes. Gemäß der Erfindung wird das Problem dadurch gelöst, daß das Dichtelement (1) einen Strömungsweg für die Prüfluft aufweist, auf dem die Prüfluft mit einer radialen Komponente (14a, 14b) strömt. Mit der Führung der Prüftluft gemäß der Erfindung wird die Gefahr von Verstopfungen infolge liegengebliebener Tabakkrümel vermindert. <IMAGE>
