[origin: EP0602474A1] Method for the calibration of a coin tester, characterised by the following steps: at least one test coin which differs from an acceptable coin undergoes a test in a coin-testing portion of a coin tester to be calibrated; the measured parameter value is entered into the programmable memory of the coin tester; stored in an external memory is at least one correlation function which is determined from the relation between the size of a quantity of parameter values and the size of a quantity of measured values of at least one standard coin for at least one coin type, the values being obtained by multiple testing in the coin-testing portion of a plurality of coin testers; the parameter value is transferred from the memory of the coin tester into a computer; with the parameter value as an independent variable, the computer calculates from the correlation function at least one reference value for the coin type, and the calculated reference value is entered into the programmable memory of the coin tester.
