[origin: EP0603018A1] The present invention relates to elements which make it possible to produce hinges. The element according to the invention is characterised essentially in that it consists of a unitary body 2 inscribed in a cylindrical surface 13 and has two end parts 4, 5, a through hole 6, 7 made in each end part along the generatrix of the cylindrical surface, two wall parts 8, 9 secured, respectively, to the two end parts 4, 5, and a wall portion 10 secured to the two wall parts 8, 9, this wall portion 10 having at least one point of weakness in its link with the two wall parts 8, 9 making it possible to separate the latter by means of a relatively low rupture force. Application, in particular, to the production of aluminium hinges for building closures. <IMAGE>
