Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9304825A1] The invention relates to a method and apparatus for punching register holes in sheets provided with adjustment marks. The apparatus comprises a punching table (1) having punches (27) and sensors (28) on the punching table, a vacuum table (25) being provided in the punching table substantially in the plane thereof, said vaccuum table being adjustable in two mutually perpendicular directions in the plane of the punching table and being rotatable about an axis perpendicular to said plane. Adjustment means for the adjustment of the vacuum table are operatively connected to the sensors to control the operation thereof via a microprocessor in dependence of the adjustment marks being sensed by the sensors. When the method is practised the sheet is attached by suction to the vacuum table, and this table and thus the sheet is positioned by the adjustment of the vacuum table, the positioning being controlled in dependence of the position of the adjustment marks being sensed. After positioning the sheet is punched, the sheet then being released from the vacuum table and removed from the punching table.
