A grinding tool, especially a polishing tool, consists of an abrasive element (17) and a shank (13) which is fixed in the latter and with respect to the median longitudinal axis (15) of which the abrasive element (17) is designed rotationally symmetrically. The abrasive element (17) consists of laminated layers (8) which are arranged parallel to one another and parallel to the median longitudinal axis (15), the layers consisting of a base layer, binder and abrasive grit. The base layer is formed by a cotton fabric, the fibres of which form chip spaces. <IMAGE>

Ein Schleifwerkzeug, und zwar insbesondere ein Fein-Schleifwerkzeug, besteht aus einem Schleifkörper (17) und einem in diesem befestigten Schaft (13) zu dessen Mittel-Längs-Achse (15) der Schleifkörper (17) drehsymmetrisch ausgebildet ist. Der Schleifkörper (17) besteht aus parallel zueinander und parallel zur Mittel-Längs-Achse (15) angeordneten Laminatschichten (8), die aus einer Trägerschicht, Bindemittel und Schleifkorn bestehen. Die Trägerschicht ist durch ein Baumwollgewebe gebildet, dessen Fasern Spanräume bilden. <IMAGE>
