Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0603503A1] The present invention relates to a switching method, in particular for switching on a fused load-break switch (1), in which three fuse links (4, 5, 6) which are arranged on an upper part (2) of the fused load-break switch are moved simultaneously substantially in parallel and at the same distance and are brought into or out of contact with backing contacts (7a,b; 8a,b; 9a,b) arranged on an underpart (3) of the fused load-break switch. In order to achieve a method for switching circuits using fused load-break switches as well as a corresponding fused load-break switch having the features mentioned in the introduction, wherein the dangers to the switching system and to the personnel when switching on a shorted circuit are considerably reduced, provision is made, according to the invention, for the circuit to be closed via the three fuse links (4, 5, 6) with a time delay, with the contacting of the first contact blade (3a, 4a, 5a) of each of the fuse links (3, 4, 5) occurring simultaneously or in any predeterminable chronological sequence, whilst at least for a first fuse link (3, 4), at least the contacting of its second contact blade (3b, 4b) with the corresponding backing contact (7b, 8b) occurs before the contacting of the second contact blades (3b, 5b or 4b, 5b) of the two other fuse links (3, 5 or 4, 5). <IMAGE>
