[origin: EP0603601A2] A description is given of an apparatus for pneumatically conveying bulk material, having a conveying line for the bulk material and having a tracing line which runs parallel to the latter, both of which are connected to the same compressed-air source so that the same pressure prevails at the inlet in both pipes. Branch lines proceed from the tracing line and open into spring-loaded relief valves which are provided at specified points along the conveying line. If a blockage of the conveyed material forms in the conveying line, the relief valves open and blow the conveying line clear by this means. According to the invention, the spring forces of the relief valves are set at predetermined values so that the apparatus functions without failures. It is also possible to use suction air instead of compressed air. <IMAGE>
