[origin: EP0603698A1] The invention describes a rolling piston vacuum pump with internal compression. Located in the pump casing are working pistons (4) and control pistons (5) of circular cross-section. The working pistons are provided with piston heads (6), and the control pistons are provided with recesses (7). The inventive arrangement of working pistons (6), control pistons (5), component regions (8) and (9) of the pump casing as well as of the gas outlet opening (3) ensure an effective pumping with internal compression and minimum losses. In order to prevent gas from being conveyed back, bores (14) are provided in the control piston (5). The overpressure at the end of the compression phase is compensated by bores (15) in the casing. <IMAGE>
