The subject of the invention is a device for stopping a machine with a horizontal drum in position. This device includes at least one means (22, 23) for blocking the device driving the drum, this blocking means being driven into its blocking position by a catching means (24) integral either with the drum or with a component (6) of the means for driving the drum, the component itself being integral with the drum, when an operating means (25, 26, 27) drives the blocking means from a position of rest into a position where catching is possible, the catching means being placed so that when blocking is brought about, the hatch of the drum is located facing the opening for access to the machine. The invention applies particularly to machines for washing and/or drying laundry. <IMAGE>

L'invention a pour objet un dispositif d'arrêt en position d'une machine à tambour horizontal. Ce dispositif comporte au moins un moyen de blocage (22, 23) du dispositif d'entraînement du tambour, ce moyen de blocage étant entraîné dans sa position de blocage par un moyen d'accorchage (24) solidaire soit du tambour, soit d'une pièce (6) du dispositif d'entraînement du tambour elle-même solidaire du tambour, lorsqu'un moyen de manoeuvre (25, 26, 27) entraîne le moyen de blocage d'une position de repos dans une position où l'accrochage est possible, le moyen d'accrochage étant placé de façon à ce que, lorsque le blocage est réalisé, la trappe du tambour se trouve en face de l'ouverture d'accès de la machine. L'invention s'applique notamment aux machines à laver et/ou à sécher le linge. <IMAGE>
